DrakNet Dedicated Servers are an alternative solution for popular sites, a large company, an online mall, or reseller/presence providers. Hosting services on a shared server are sometimes not enough to allow you the kind of control, configuration, power, and accessibility that you require. When that's the case, you need to consider a dedicated server solution. You can fully control account setups, software installations, user modifications, and data backups. All servers are hosted on CentOS.

Please note the prices below are for basic managed (OS patches) only and do not include the cPanel license for managed services, which is an additional $19.95 per month. All servers come with 5 IP Addresses included. All prices above are monthly. All server plans can be discounted 20% for biennual, 15% for annual, 10% for semi-annual, and 5% for quarterly prepayments. Additional Fee prepayments are not discountable.

How Managed is Managed?

DrakNet will handle building the server to your specifications, install the operating system, and configure system software. Our Dedicated Servers are built with Intel™/AMD™ Processors, and ONLY major name brand components. DrakNet will maintain all hardware, and monitor your server 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Your basic contract with DrakNet includes basic system administration, but not individualized development work unless otherwise specified. If you're unfamiliar with administering a server, we recommend that you add on a WHM/cPanel license for $19.95 per month as most administration tasks that a system administrator usually handles you can handle by yourself through the Web Host Manager with a little basic training. (And frankly, what you don't know how to do you can easily find out or we can help you with.)

Additional services like daily or weekly backups, reboot ports, unmetered bandwidth and others appear below. For those on cPanel boxes who don't want to set up and secure the server themselves, we have an initial Server Hardening add on for $99 that will get your box tweaked and secured and ready to go, and as a courtesy we will recompile and set up programs with the specifications that you wish.

Can I get Windows?

DrakNet specifically only sells server software set ups that we use ourselves and we are intimately familiar with because even though we're leasing them and passing them on to you, we do direct support on these boxes (hence the exclusive use of the CentOS operating system and cPanel control panel). We do have a plethora of other options available in both software and control panels but, frankly, unless you're already our client and used to working with us, we don't recommend ourselves for anything other than our standard software server options listed above. If you really, really, really want to buy a Windows Server with Plesk from us, we'll sell it to you, but we're going to tell you at the outset it's not our forte and we'll be passing you up to the NOC for support - in which case, you may as well buy it somewhere else that specializes in it.

I want the server that you have for the shared hosting.

Awesome. That will be about $600 a month, please!

DrakNet hosts on extremely high end, top of the line, the very best we can get for our shared hosting clients servers. The servers that we list and sell above are considered "budget" priced servers and they differ quite a bit from the boxes that we get. Not to say that they're bad servers, because they are not "bad" servers - they're not premium servers, however, and they aren't priced as such. We've been asked to provide our clients with a "budget" option beyond shared hosting that we support so that clients that grow can keep the support they've come to expect and match it with a box instead of a little corner of a box, and we found one and now offer it.

If you are a current client and are interested in premium server options, please feel free to give us a call - we can provide just about anything you're looking for and have options all over the budgetary range. The options above are the ones we offer publicly because the majority of folks tend to want inexpensive.

OK, ok, but can I fancy my little server up a bit?

Sure! We recommend adding cPanel to manage it, especially if you have never had a server before or are planning to try your hand at web hosting.
